The new IPhone 5!!!

Today is the day of the new IPhone 5 release and as I type this I am sitting in a lecture on the back row looking down on many students in front of me that are not, in fact taking notes on the lecture, but all have the apple website up on their laptops, fulfilling their intrigue on the newly anticipated apple product.

The New IPhone 5
From what I can see over people's shoulders is that the shape and face of the phone is only slightly different, being slightly thinner and lighter, Siri is slightly smarter with international capabilities, the retina screen is slightly better and it now runs slightly faster on 4G. So all in all, slightly better.

Apple has already 'wowed' the world and installed the desire to own the previous iPhone's within many hearts around the world so how could they possible make something that will over-ride this desire and replace it with the new technology that is 'slightly better'.

So why is that everyone in front of me fanatically on their laptops reading up on this new product? Why is it that the first thing majority of the technological world did this morning was wake up and look at this new product?

The iPhone was a new way of looking at things. A simple arrangement of 'apps' and user friendly interface. Apple had spent a lot of money and time on the first iPhone before it's release to make sure it was something completely new and the response it had in the market, proved that this careful consideration paid off.

Then there were upgrades, that didn't do much but just solidified the new experience and
Made it a little bit better. Then the market caught on. Started designing similar phones with similar processing which started all sorts of legal battles of copyright and patenting.

I think at this time apple realised it needed to make another big step forward to break away from becoming like everyone else. Then came Siri. If you hold the big button on your IPhone 4S and ask Siri who she is, she will say, " I am Siri, your personal assitant". Siri added a whole new level of experience to the iPhone and was that step up that Apple needed.

But all Apple users will know that spefic feeling that you get when owning and using an Apple product. Everything is so seamless and easy. Already organised for you. The design is aesthetically pleasing and without even noticing this makes you like the Iphone without even using it much.

So how is this iPhone 5 going to be a step up? Well, it's not. The general trend is that after a step forward like Siri in the Iphone 4S, comes a few upgrades to compliment it. Yet we are all rushing to see the iPhone 5. Apple has amazed and excited us before with their products and that becomes addictive. We want that next big thing in our fingertips, within our control. We want the fuzzy nice feeling and comfort you get from using an iphone and discovering all these wonderful ways you think it will help your life. The world is now addicted to that feeling; because Apple makes its products so well and knows how to keep us intrigued.
