A bad Blog, you wont wanna here the truth..... Italy-Zurich

Andy Warhol Selfie!!! (Kunthaus Museum, Zurich)

So im just going to be completely honest. I havent wanted to write my blog for ages. And i have actually got a lot of people lately telling me that they actually read it so really that should make me wanan write it. I dont know whats been wrong with me. But ive always had the attitude that i would only do these blogs and upload videos when i was happy to and it wasnt impreding on my 'travel experience'. So thats what ive done. But people starting saying 'cant wait for your next blog' and 'are you alive' lol. So here i am. I have my Dr.Dre beats blocking out the world with a bit of florence and the MAchine playing and my laptop heating my lap. Comfy. good tunes. Lets do this. it will be fun :D (<Sarcasm*). I do love you all (Seriously).

So last i left the blog it was friday and that was our relaxing day. we went shopping and it was nice. the next day was not. not at all. I mean yeah, we went to the Triennalle design museum so really we should of been frothing but what people dont realise, those people that say to you before you leave 'oh make the most of ever opportunity', 'your going to have the most amazing time', they dont realise they are setting you up for disaster. When we got to Milan we were blown away. It was like incredible euphoria and we were so emotional. Its not sustainable. What goes up must come down. And i know this isnt what anyone wants to hear cause everyone wants to be saying about to amazing time im having. Well if your that person, bare with me. It gets better. Out of bad comes good.

Paid 12euro for this small disgusting mess
So this so called horrible day, wasnt even bad. Its just the bad things that did happen got blown out of proportion cause we were use to perfection. So there was this ravioli. And this ravioli sounded amazing on the menu so me and Georgia both ordered it (Pumpkin ravioli with hazelnut butter sauce). Well i dont know what they put in food in Italy but i have never tasted anything worse. Me and Georgia were so hungry that we forced two peices down. but the funniest part was making jess try it. We wished we'd filmed it because she pretty much tried to spit it out again except she couldnt cause we were in a fancy restaurant and she has morals. pfft morals. We'll get her next time ;)

Then the weather was horrible and we also had a not so good tea. we got lost and ended up were we'd already been, which i hate repeating my steps when im travelling. I will walk on the otherside of the road and that will help but its still annoying. Actually now i cant even remember what was so bad about the day. The Dracula Exhibit was awesome which made us want to go to transylvania and so was the L'architectura des Monde were we saw original Le Corbusier drawings (Froth).

Basking in the sun :D
But the next day (sunday) was amazing. This day shalled be Vlogged shortly (Video Blogged). Just when we'd thought we were sick of milan because we'd tried to explore and ended up in the same places, we discovered all these new areas. and the sun was out. I think we had been Vitamin D deprived because we were instantly happy and we knew it as well. First we realised their were ruins right near our hostel that we'd missed, then we found beautiful canals with amazing restaurants (foodies dream), then we went to find this old cemetary (which was so beautiful but kreepy) and we found China town on the way where we went to this place that did Thai, Chinese and Japanese. And it was amazing. soooooooooooo good. Slightly weird having to talk italian to Japanese people though cause they dont know english. and eating Chinese, made by Japanese, in Italy. So cultural right now. lol

Then on Monday, we spontaneously went to florence. Amaze. FLorence is what i imagine when i think europe. I cant even describe it but it just seemed more livable. Milan was kind of snobby and locals had already told us that it was the real Italy because of this. FLorence, when you walk around you can just imagine the old days.

Then Tuesday, we made the move from Milan to Zurich, Switzerland. It was upon crossing the border that we realised we had made the right decision catching the train everywhere. Once again we were amazed. It was giant mountains abruptly exploding from the earth juxtaposed right up against and engolfing small town villages situated in the valleys. And so many lakes. and Snow!! We finally saw snow.

TODAY:

And then there is today. Wednesday, where we spent exploring Zurich. Last night, I discovered just how inadequet kmart shoes are here. We walked from our hotel to tea and my shoes just began immediately absorbing all the ice cold water they could as if they'd been on a month long trek through the dessert. By the time we got the tea, I was dragging my own ocean around everywhere with me. I complained and complained so first thing this morning the girls helped me find new boots. and then it was back to happy Tara.

What ive realised is when you travel you really miss downtime. Your always walking and exploring but you dont really have time to just sit and relax because you always feel like you should be doing something. Tonight we just sat in a pub and had dinner and then just sat there for ages and talked. It was nice. It was a beautiful old wood pub that was clearly very popular with the locals because we had to share a tabel with germans and it was warm and looked out on the fresh snow falling outside. It was probably one of my favourite moments about Zurich. That and going to the Kunsthaus and seeing works by Van Gogh, Monet, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali and Picasso. No biggy. I like the sights, but sitting amonst the everyday people is the best. Listening to them speak German is just so mezmerising as well.
